These cards provide a means for experience military divers with no recognized recreational diving certification to become certified the by National Association of Underwater Instructor (NAUI)
This does not include student presently enrolled at NDSTC or instructors stationed there. Each card will have the Military Divers/We Dive The World Over decal attached. CARD TYPES Available below: Master SCUBA Diver Requirements The Master SCUBA must be knowledgeable and experienced in Deep/simulated decompression diving, Limited Visibility or night diving, Underwater navigation, Search and recovery-light salvage ,Boat Diving, Hunting and collecting, Exploration and underwater Mapping, Non-penetration wreck diving, Observation and data collection, Diving in surf and currents, and Altitude Diving Advanced SCUBA Diver Requirements (a minimum of 6 open water dives) The Advanced SCUBA Diver must be knowledgeable and experienced in Navigation, Night and low visibility, Deep diving (130 FSW), and participated in Search and recovery, Boat Diving, Hunting and collecting, Exploration and underwater Mapping, Non-penetration wreck diving, observation and data collection, Altitude Diving. Advanced SCUBA Rescue Diver Requirements The Advance SCUBA Rescue Diver must be knowledgeable, experienced, with and competent to perform assists and rescues in aquatic situations. The must be qualified in First Aid, CPR, trained in oxygen administration within the past two years using constant flow and demand oxygen delivery systems and Lifeguarding instructors who conduct periodically training in these areas. Must be able to swim 225 yard nonstop in six minutes or less, survival swim for 15 minutes, and recover 10 pound of weight from 10 FSW Wreck Diver Requirements The Wreck Diver must be knowledgeable and experienced in the skills and knowledge in the hazards and cautions, special risks of overhead environment, entanglement, limited visibility, deep diving, equipment (additions and modifications), location of wrecks, sources of information, search methods, underwater navigation, legal aspects, artifacts treasure, salvage, archaeology and appropriate material for other specialty courses, if altitude diving is involves, altitude procedures and flying after diving knowledge is paramount. Specialty Certifications Deep Diver (specialty) Requirements The Deep Diver must be knowledgeable and experienced with propose, problems, hazards, planning, preparation, equipment (additions and modifications), air supplies, personnel, techniques, gas management, emergency procedures (including location and transportation to a hyperbaric chamber) and depth limits for recreational diving. Decompression procedures are to include nitrogen narcosis and decompression sickness (definition, cause, symptoms, signs, first aid and prevention) history of decompression, concepts, use of dive computers, and definition of terms, problems, principles and techniques. Complete coverage of Repetitive Dive Tables, work sheets, problem solutions, exception and dive planning are also to be included. Altitude diving, flying after diving and hyperbaric chamber access and operations shall be included, as well as other short-and long term deep diving hazards. Dry Suit Diver (specialty) Requirements The Dry Suit Diver must be knowledgeable and experienced in the basic knowledge and skills needed to minimize risks and gain experience in dry suit diving, as well as the proper use and maintainance of dry suits.
Night Diver (specialty) Requirements The Night Diver must be knowledgeable and experienced with the physical and biological aspects of the diving environment. Must have experience in planning and preparation, night diving equipment, procedures, problems, hazards, navigation and the buddy system techniques
